What changes
According to The Decoder (DE), OpenAI has doubled the usage limits for several paid ChatGPT tiers. The Work and Codex quotas on the Pro 100 and Pro 500 plans each double. On Pro 200, the lower quota was doubled, and a planned cut was reversed after user feedback. The Plus plan remains unchanged.
New subscriptions already include the adjusted quotas; according to the source, existing customers receive them automatically.
Caveat
OpenAI notes that a doubled quota does not necessarily mean twice as many completed tasks, because consumption depends on the model, task type and settings. The expanded limits for the new "Dots" also remain in place for now; their usage is counted separately from the regular quota.
Context
The announcement comes amid competition for business customers: according to the source, OpenAI recently released the Terra and Sol models and intensified the battle for B2B dominance shortly before Anthropic's IPO. For companies using Pro or Business tiers, this may mean more work is possible without changing plans – whether that holds in practice depends on your own usage pattern and should be checked.
