We measure the number of open job postings that name a tool (German Federal Employment Agency, keyword search). Brand names are used as the search term; occasional ambiguity is possible. Strongly ambiguous terms (e.g. “Make”, “Cursor”) are deliberately excluded. Not an official statistic.

The AI Skills Report ranks competencies and fields (artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science …). The AI Tool Index ranks named products (ChatGPT, Copilot, Midjourney …).
We deliberately leave out strongly ambiguous names whose counts would be distorted by non-AI words (e.g. “Make”, “Cursor”, “Runway”). Better a few clean numbers than many false ones.
It is a keyword count, not an audit. It reliably shows trends and orders of magnitude; individual hits may be ambiguous. That’s why we name the source openly and review the terms regularly.
