Saudi Aramco takes 49 percent stake in AI firm Humain

Saudi Aramco is buying into Humain, the company meant to turn Saudi Arabia into a global AI hub. According to Aramco, the oil giant takes a 49 percent stake and contributes about $2.6 billion in 2026 along with its own AI technology. The source The Decoder reports that Humain was founded in May 2025 by the sovereign wealth fund PIF and builds data centers, cloud services, and AI models such as the Arabic language model ALLaM.

Buildout and demand

Humain plans three gigawatts of data center capacity by 2030 to serve demand at home and abroad. According to The Decoder, Humain has seen no drop in demand despite the Iran war, but is strengthening protection for its data centers.

Context

What this could mean for German companies remains open: whether it leads to offerings for the European market cannot be seen from the available sources.
