Anthropic has launched a new /design skill for Claude Code as a research preview, according to the company's announcement. The feature integrates the artboard workflow from Claude Design directly into Claude Code's CLI and Desktop variants, built on Anthropic's Artifacts system.
Users can run the /design command to generate editable artboards for their UI. They can then select a design, tweak it, and have Claude implement it.
Key Facts
- New skill:
/designbrings Claude Design artboards into Claude Code (CLI and Desktop) - Workflow: Generate artboards → select → customize → implement
- Status: Research Preview (early testing phase)
- Foundation: Built on Anthropic's Artifacts technology
What It Means
The feature could be relevant for German developers and designers already using Claude Code – it could bring UI design and implementation closer together without switching between tools. It remains unclear when the feature will move from preview to standard release and how it will integrate with existing design workflows.
