2. Processing when you visit the website

When you access this website, our hosting provider automatically records information that your browser transmits (so-called server log files): IP address, date and time of access, the page requested, the volume of data transferred, the browser and operating system used, and the previously visited page (referrer).

This data is processed solely to deliver the website, to ensure security and stability, and for error analysis. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and functional website pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Netlify processes the server log files described above as a processor on our behalf.

This may involve a transfer of data to the USA. The transfer is based on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

4. Contact form

When you contact us via the contact form, we process the data you provide (name, email address, optionally company, topic and the content of your message) solely to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

To prevent abuse (spam and bot detection), we additionally process technical data of your submission (IP address, browser identifier, time and fill duration). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functioning, abuse-free contact channel pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

The submission is transmitted via a serverless function operated by our hosting provider Netlify (see section 3); the email notification to us is sent via our email provider IONOS SE (Montabaur, Germany). We delete the data once it is no longer required to handle your request and no statutory retention obligations apply.

5. Web fonts

To display fonts consistently, we use web fonts that are served locally from our own server. No data is transferred to third parties (in particular, not to Google) when the fonts load, and no connection to external font servers is established.

6. Local storage

To remember your display preferences (e.g. light or dark theme) we use your browser's local storage. This information stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and contains no personal data. We do not use any cookies for tracking or marketing purposes.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights: access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing (Art. 21).

To exercise your rights, an informal message to the contact details given in the Imprint is sufficient.

8. Right to lodge a complaint
